Strategically held on the first day of UNGA, The SDGs In Action Forum is an annual high-level meeting that brings together leaders from the private sector, UN Member States, UN agencies, and international organizations so that they can leverage their experience, access to market, and resources towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's forum will be held virtually focusing on:

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

SDGs 4: Quality Education.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

PROGRAMME

This year's Forum will attempt to answer the following questions: Are we on the right track to solve the SDGs by 2030? How has the pandemic accelerated or derailed solutions? How do our (individual and organizational) goals align with the SDGs? How can we create uncommon collaborations?

11:20 AM - 12:15 PM: SDGs Deep Dives - Guided discussions across four workgroups.

12:15 PM - 1:15 PM: Reading Across the SDGs - Key insights from each SDG workgroup are shared back to create collective understanding.

1:15 PM - 1:45 PM: Plenary - Teams share the work they’ve done together; closing statements; now what?

2:00 PM: Adjourn

About

UNGA Forum

The world is increasingly siloed. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, globalization was in trouble. Although the flow of information is largely free, the movement of people, goods, IP, and capital is not. This is a unique moment in time to connect people who don’t usually work together and generate new ideas about solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals, which are set to expire in 2030.

Established in 2015, The SDGs In Action Forum is an annual high-level meeting held during the UNGA each September in New York. The Forum brings together leaders across disciplines to forge collaborations and solutions advancing the global goals. Using Chatham House Rules, the Forum is intentionally designed to be interactive and intimate with the key goal to convene, connect, and create partnerships among the different stakeholders participating in the event.
