This year’s Forum will be held in a virtual format, during World Economic Forum's Davos Week. Building upon previous forums in this series, together we will:

1. Create space for generative conversations that foster valuable connections and partnerships.

2. Explore novel perspectives on the role of disruption and failure towards positive and transformative change and challenge established narratives.

3. Explore what needs to change and how we can start facilitating positive change in the education and energy sectors.

Davos 2021

Why Education & Energy

The education and energy sectors are two legacy industries that have been massively disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The crises they have endured are generational in scale and the next decade will be critical in how we usher positive transformation. During our meeting, we will explore the following questions.

EDUCATION: How might we redesign education to develop resilience and flexibility among students, parents, and education leaders? And how might we prepare them to contribute to a 22nd century economy that is highly dynamic and requires different skills including innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy?

ENERGY: How might we redesign the energy supply system to develop resilience and adaptability among all players so that they may contribute to the new economy? How might the industry adapt and respond to the climate change crisis, limited resources, and equity of access for all?

About

Davos Dialogue

The Davos Dialogue is an annual event hosted independently by the Diplomatic Courier and the World in 2050, alongside the World Economic Forum's Davos Week, to contribute to the discussions of the Davos Agenda. The world is increasingly siloed. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, globalization was in trouble. Although the flow of information is largely free, the movement of people, goods, IP, and capital is not. This is a unique moment in time to connect people who don’t usually work together and generate new ideas and solutions that benefit the whole of economy: people, planet, and profit. Using Chatham House Rules, the Forum is intentionally designed to be interactive and intimate with the key goal to convene, connect, and create partnerships among the different stakeholders participating in the event.
